The Student Engagement and Leadership Center is pleased to offer different opportunities for students to extend and grow their leadership skills.

Consider participating in one or all of these various events to learn more about leadership and develop your leadership skills at the same time. These events will also give you the opportunity to network with your fellow students and develop those connections that will assist you later in your careers.

Leadership Retreat

Join us for leadership retreats! Once each semester, students will have an opportunity to attend a leadership retreat where sessions will be more specifically focused on developing various different aspects of leadership.

Our Fall Semester Leadership Retreat will take place September 29th and 30th at Outlaw Ranch in Custer, SD. Transportation, lodging and meals are all provided. We will depart campus at 3:00pm on September 29th and return around 6:00pm on October 1st. This is a free leadership retreat open to all students. This is an amazing opportunity to grow and develop as an individual and as a team.

Leading Edge: Leadership Development Series

The Leadership Development Series was created as an opportunity for students to gain valuable training and skill development in a variety of leadership areas. Each workshop will focus on different aspects of leadership and personal development. Some topic areas include, discovering leadership styles, characteristics of authentic leaders, ethics and role modeling, communication, and leaving a legacy of leadership.

Leading Edge is a six week development series that takes place in both the fall and spring semesters. Each student that completes the series receives a certificate of completion, leadership pin, a framed copy of their personal leadership credo and a letter of recommendation upon request.

The series sessions will take place at 3:30pm in the Trump Conference Room.
Fall Semester Dates: Fridays, October 6th – November 17th
Spring Semester Dates: Fridays, January 19th – February 23rd

Max Participants: 25 per semester
