CENTER FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF MATH & SCIENCE EDUCATION

CAMSE's mission is to promote effective and meaningful teaching and learning of science and mathematics at all levels. Areas of emphasis include:

• Support of teachers already in the field through professional development in math content, science content, and innovative teaching strategies
• Dissemination and evaluation of instructional materials
• Research on the teaching and learning of mathematics and science
• Preparation of future teachers

Resource Materials - Sample Math and Science Curricula: The Center houses a library of research-based instructional materials for both mathematics and science that can be checked out by practicing and prospective teachers.

Professional Development Programs for Teachers - The Center offers a wide range of professional development workshops and consultations to school districts throughout South Dakota and the surrounding region. Please contact the Center for more information at 605.642.6873.

Sanford Lab Education and Outreach - The Education and Outreach program is a collaborative venture between Sanford Underground Research Facility and Black Hills State University.
